THE ART OF EMOTIONAL HEALING
Feelings either flow naturally, like a river, or get dammed up. If
our emotions become blocked, we can become tense, unhappy, anxious,
or depressed. This book offers time-tested techniques for using art
to embrace, understand, and release our emotions leading to a greater
sense of well-being in our lives.
In The Art of Emotional Healing, learn simple methods Dr. Capacchione
uses in her internationally acclaimed workshops. Reaching inside we
let our feelings out through drawing, painting, journal writing, collage
making, sculpting, drumming, dancing, mask making, and more. No artistic
talent or skill is required, only a desire to let go of self-criticism
and discover how we really feel.
"Lucia's gentle yet powerful exercises guide us in the discovery of
our own inner wisdom" —Dr. Joan Borysenko, author of Minding
the Body, Mending the Mind
"The exciting culmination of a life's work by a pioneer in integrating
the arts into the practice of psychotherapy and self-help. Lucia has recovered
for all of us the ancient connection between the expressive arts and the
release of our healing powers. Bravo to an artist of the soul!" —David
Richo, author of The Five Things We Cannot Change
SOUND OF FEELINGS
Music for Exploring Emotions
Album Notes:
The Sound of Feelings: Music for Exploring Emotions was created by Jessie
Allen Cooper as an audio sound track for Lucia Capacchione's book, The Art
of Emotional Healing.
A dynamic performer and recording artist, Jessie has been produced by Narada
Productions, Inc. His earlier albums include Soft Wave, Heaven Sent, and
Moment In Time. Jessie wears many hats (usually berets) for he is also a
visual artist and master framer.
These two multi-faceted artists met in the mid-80s when Jessie mounted
a one-woman show of Lucia's photographs. Their friendship grew and so did
their dream of collaborating on a project that would bring all the arts
together in an audio program. The Sound of Feelings is that dream
come true. It is the perfect complement to Lucia's earlier books.
